The 7th US Armored Division Insignia

The 7th Armored Division was an armored division that was employed by the United States during WWII. It was originally formed in 1942, but was reorganized in 1943. The division was nicknamed the "Lucky Seventh".

History

During the Battle of the Bulge, the division defended St Vith until 21 December 1944, when the town was captured by forces under the command of General der Panzertruppen Baron Hasso-Eccard von Manteuffel.[1]
