The Nagara-class light cruiser was a class of six light cruisers used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II.
History[]
The Nagara-class ships were built between 1920 and 1925. They were very similar to the previous Kuma-class light cruisers, and were armed with seven 140 mm main guns, as well as two 80 mm guns and eight torpedo tubes. They often served as flagships for squadrons of destroyers or submarines. All six were sunk in action during the Pacific War.[1]
