Arizona before her destruction.

The USS Arizona (BB-39) in 1931.

The USS Arizona (BB-39) was a Pennsylvania class battleship built by and for the U.S. Navy, which was first launched on June 19, 1915. During the Bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Arizona was hit by four Japanese bombs, one of which ignited its forward magazines, destroying the ship and killing the vast majority of its crew.

The Arizona was decommissioned on December 29, 1941.
