The Yakovlev Yak-7 was a fighter aircraft employed by the Soviet Union during World War II.

Description

The Yak-7 was a single-engined aircraft and used Klimov M-105P engine which was capable of propelling the aircraft at speeds of up to 495 kilometers per hour at sea level. The armament of the Yak consisted of a single 20 mm autocannon mounted through the propeller and two 12.7 mm machine guns. This made the Yak-7 favorite among pilots and a favorite in Soviet command for its ability to also attack ground forces.[1]
